TC Baseball drops decision to No. 3 Midland College

The Temple College baseball team hosted No. 3 Midland College in a late Friday afternoon tilt at the Danny Scott Athletic Complex.

Midland scored six times in the first three innings and put up ten runs over the final two frames to run rule the Leopards, 16-2.

Midland scored three runs in the first, one in the second and three in the third to take a 6-0 lead. Chaparral starting pitcher used the early lead to retire the first 12 Leopards/

Kolvin Davis walked and Kade Davis singled to set up Lance Cantrell's two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to draw Temple to within four runs.

Midland answered with three runs in the seventh and seven more in the eighth.

The Chaparrals collected 17 hits, led by Caleb Boswell with three, and Dylon Myrow, Colin Fisher, Josh Morgan, and Stevyn Andrachick with two hits each. Fisher, Morgan, and Myrow each had three RBI.

Jacob Kuhn picked up the win, as he pitched six innings, allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits, struck out seven and walked two. Keller Lindeman pitched two innings, allowed one hit, struck out one, and walked one.

Kade Davis had two of Temple's four hits.

Patrick Collopy pitched two innings in the loss. The Temple staff combined to strike out ten and walk eight.

Temple and Midland will play at 11 am on Saturday at the Danny Scott Athletic Complex. The Chaparrals will play Navarro College in a nine-inning game 30 minutes following the TC game at approximately 1 pm. Temple and Navarro is slated for late afternoon, 30 minutes after Midland-Navarro concludes.
