The Temple College men's basketball team hosted Strength 'N Motion International in their second matchup of the season.
In the first matchup on Nov. 20, the Leopards broke away from a 31-30 score with a 20-0 run that stretched from the first half into the second in a 92-61 win.
Wednesday night's contest had the same instance that started much earlier and carried a ton Temple offensive punch.
With an 8-8 score with 15:53 remaining in the first half, Temple had runs of 10-0 and 29-0 having held SNMI without a field goal for 14 minutes on their way to a 106-62 rout.
The teams started the games with individual runs, with TC starting with a 5-0 run and SNMI answering with an 8-0 stretch before Temple hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 8-8.
Coming out of the first media timeout, Temple came out with a 10-0 run before Strength 'N Motion hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to seven points, 18-11.
Temple answered with a 38-1 stretch, which included 29 straight points, to give the Leopards a 52-12 lead with 3:32 left in the first half.
TC outscored SNMI down the stretch, 13-5, as the Leopards led at the half, 65-17.
The Leopards led the game by as many as 54 points, as both teams flexed their benches to spread the offensive wealth and give everyone valuable minutes in live game action.
All 14 Leopards who dressed scored for TC, led by Rasuan Collier's 22-point night, as he drained six of Temple's 15 three-pointers.
Jason Ward scored 14 points, and Roy Gardner scored 12 off the bench for Temple (7-4). The Leopards converted 7-of-19 free throws.
Strength 'N Motion had 12 of 13 of their players who dressed score in a balanced offensive attack. Joshua Moore led SNMI with nine points, and six players each scored six points for the visitors. SNMI converted 7-of-11 from the charity stripe and had a trio of three-pointers.
The Leopards will host Lackland on Saturday (Dec. 7) at 4 pm, immediately following the Temple College women's basketball game against Angelina College, slated for a 2pm start as part of the Temple Classic Tournament.
