The Temple College men's basketball team began the second half of their NTJCAC road schedule on Wednesday night in McKinney as they took on Collin County Community College.
The Cougars nipped the Leopards at the end of the contest for a 79-76 win.
Collin led at halftime, 40-33. Temple outscored the Cougars in the second half, 43-39 but came up three points short.
Temple outrebounded Collin, 49-35. However, TC committed 17 turnovers to Collin's three.
Storm Gilchrist scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench to lead the Leopards. Jaymes Brown-Peterson and Rasuan Collier added ten points each.
The loss dropped Temple (16-9, 5-4 NTJCAC) into a third-place tie with Collin and Southwestern Christian. The three schools are one game behind second-place Weatherford College and two games behind McLennan Community College with five games remaining in the regular season.
The Leopards will travel to Grayson College on Saturday.
