The Temple College men's basketball team will face its first road test on the season on Wednesday in Farmers Branch, as the Leopards will taken on the Dallas College Brookhaven Bears.
Tip time in the metroplex is 7 pm.
Temple downed Fort Hood on Saturday afternoon at Kirby Johnson Court, 142-94. The 142 points was their highest since a 156-68 win over Tribulation Prep on Nov. 1, 2018.
All 12 players that dressed scored and scored at least five points. Jaymes Brown-Peterson led the with 20 points on 9-of-10 from the floor. Harry Bates contributed 17 points, Josh Telfort and Byron Piper each had 16 points, and Jason Ward logged 14 points. Bates and Ovie Agbigbe had eight rebounds, and Ward and Jonty Kells had five assists.
The Bears played two games at the New Mexico Junior College Homecoming Classic. Brookhaven lost to NMJC 90-52 on Saturday and 71-61 to Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Sunday.
Jovan Danner and Carson Farnsley each had ten points off the bench against NMJC. Da'King Smith led the Bears with 12 points against Fort Hays, with Jasiah Shields having chipped in 11 points, and Kaleel Kelly having poured in ten.
The Leopards and Bears have played the past three Novembers against one another. In 2024, Temple downed Brookhaven, 83-71. In 2023, the Bears bested the Leopards, 92-78. In 2022, Temple beat Brookhaven, 96-90.
Wednesday's game is the first of two road games to complete the week. Temple will travel to Corsicana to take on Navarro College on Friday evening.
