The Temple College men's basketball team travel to Levelland for an overnight tournament at the South Plains Classic, which starts Friday.

The Leopards will take on Dallas College – North Lake in a rematch of their 83-79 TC win from this past Saturday. The Friday contest will be at 2 pm at the South Plains Coliseum.

Temple will play No. 14 South Plains College on Saturday at 2 pm.

The Leopards average 93.8 points per game and allow 81.8, shoot 45.7% from the field, 31.1% from beyond the arc, 59.4% from the free throw line, pull down 48.5 rebounds per game, 17.2 assists, 15.2 steals, and 4.8 blocks.

Telfort averages 16 points per game with Brown-Peterson (11.8), Gardner (11.2), Harry Bates (11), and Jason Ward (10.8) average 60.8 points per game collectively as a starting unit.

North Lake (3-2) averages 87.7 points per game, and yields 64.6 points per game defensively. DCNL averages 33.6% from the floor, 25.6% from behind the three-point line, and 65% from the free throw line, The Blazers outrebound opponents on average 54-37 and forces 20 turnovers per contest.

Romiel Carter (16.4 ppg), Jordan Edwards (10.6 ppg), Santana Spivey (10.2), and Zach Thompson (10.2 ppg) are the leading scorers.

Temple and South Plains met twice last season.

At the SPC Classic in Nov. 2024, When the Leopards and Texans met at the SPC Classic last year, South Plains downed the Leopards, 88-53. Isaac Taveras scored 22 points to lead all scorers. Gardner scored ten points to lead the Leopards.

At the Region V Tournament semifinal, the Texans outlasted the Leopards, 85-77, in a game that ended the Leopards season. Temple trailed South Plains at halftime, 43-41 and played the Texas tightly throughout the contest.

Jalen Ricks led the Texans with 19 points off the bench, and Taveras added 18.

Telfort scored 24 points to lead the Leopard.

The Texans (4-0) average 92.5 points per game and allow 78.5 points defensively. They shoot 57.1% from the floor, 47.9% from beyond the three-point line, and 67% from the free throw line. South Plains outrebound opponents on average, 28-19.

Zion Pipkin (16.5 ppg), Micah Bell (16 ppg), Yohandry Ortiz (16 ppg), Antallah Sandlin'el (12 ppg) are the leading scorers for the Texans.

Following the weekend in Levelland, the Leopards will travel on Wednesday to Richardson to take on Dallas College Eastfield.
