The Temple College Men's Basketball team hit the road for a mid-week daytrip to the metroplex as they took on Dallas College - Mountain View.
Temple jumped out to a fast start, posting a 7-0 over the first 3:25, 12-0 run over a 2:02 span, converted 7-of-8 free-throws in the first half, and held off the Mountain Lions' charges in the second half as the Leopards took home a 103-86 win.
TC (5-2) jumped out to the seven-point advantage early on field goals by Roy Gardner and Josh Telfort.
After the Mountain Lions scored six of the next 11 points, the Leopards'12-0 took the lead out 18 points, 24-6, with 11:35 to play in the first half. Byron Piper, Joel Brown, and Harry Bates combined for the 12-point swing.
Mountain View (4-5) battled back to within 11 points before the Leopards stretched the advantage to 21 by closing out the half on a 23-13 clip over the final 6:23. TC led at the half, 55-34.
Bates, Jaymes Brown-Peterson, Ovie Agbigbe, Esbjorn Reidav, and Jonty Kells helped provide second-half pressure to help keep the Mountain Lions' margin in double-digits, as the closest that Mountain View came within the Leopards in the final 20 minutes was 15 points.
Temple will travel to Levelland on Friday for the Texan Classic weekend tournament. The Leopards will take on Dallas College - North Lake at 2 pm on Friday and No. 14 South Plains College at 2 pm on Saturday.
