TC men’s basketball faces tough road tough test Tuesday at Eastfield

The Temple College men's basketball team will face its fifth consecutive ranked opponent on Tuesday, as they face NJCAA Division III Dallas College – Eastfield in Richardson.

Tip off from the eastern metroplex is 6 pm.

The Leopards (6-3) are 3-1 in their last four games, with upending No. 6 Dallas College – North Lake twice and Dallas College – Mountain View, and having lost to Div. 1 No. 14 South Plains College on Saturday, 96-88.

Temple has averaged 94.1 points per game so far through nine contests, and yielded 83.8. The Leopards have shot 47.8% from the floor, 32.6% from behind the three-point arc, and shot 62.2% from the free-throw line. The Leopards outrebound teams on average, 45.7-33.1.

Josh Telfort (14.6 ppg), Roy Gardner (13.9 ppg), Harry Bates (11.3 ppg), Jason Ward (10.8 ppg), and Jaymes Brown Peterson (10.7 ppg) lead the team in the scoring department. Ward leads the team in rebounds (7.0), assists (4.2) and steals (3) per game.

Eastfield (4-4) is receiving votes just outside the NJCAA Div. III Top 15 poll. They have won their last four games by an average of 36 points, after losing their first four by an average of 15 points. The Harvester Bees average 82 points per game and allow 71.4 per contest. Eastfield converts 43.9% from the field, 26.2% from behind the three-point line, and 70% from the charity stripe, outrebound teams by 17.9 boards per game.

Martez James (15.6 ppg), Braydon Campbell (11.6 ppg), and Corey Jackson (10.7 ppg) are Eastfield's leading scorers.

Following the Dallas trip, the Leopards will have a break over Thanksgiving. Temple returns to action Dec. 4-6 at the Howard College Tournament in Big Spring. They will take on No. 6 Midland College (Thursday), Western Texas College (Friday) and No. 18 Howard College (Saturday).
