The Temple College men's basketball team started the second half of their season Monday afternoon at Kirby Johnson Court, as they hosted Strength 'N Motion Academy in a rematch of their Dec. 11 matchup.
The Leopards won the first game of the series, 111-83.
Temple pulled away from SNMA in second half, and defeated the visitors, 100-83.
Strength 'N Motion held a 21-20 lead in the first half before the Leopards used an 8-0 run to take the lead for good with six minutes left in the half.
Temple led at the half, 45-37.
The Leopards led by as many as 21 points late in the game. SNMA was able to work the margin under 20 by game's end.
TC shot 17-of-27 at the free-throw line and sank five three-pointers.
Roy Gardner scored 22 points, which included 16 in the second half to lead the Leopards. Josh Telfort added 20, Jaymes Brown-Peterson contributed 15, and Joel Brown chipped in ten points.
SNMA shot 8-of-13 from the charity stripe and four three-pointers.
Liam Celsi led all scorers with 26 points.
The Leopards host Coastal Bend College Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm.
