TC Men’s Basketball faces final road test of regular season at SWCC

The Temple College Men's Basketball faces an important road matchup on Wednesday evening in Terrell, as the Leopards take on Southwestern Christian College.

Tip-off from SWCC is slated for 7 pm.

When the teams met at Kirby Johnson Court, Temple pulled away in the second half for an 86-73 win. Harry Bates had a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Jaymes Brown-Peterson and Roy Gardner also scored 15 points each.

Amir McMillian led all scorers with 30 points.

Temple (17-11 overall, 8-4 NTJCAC) is sitting in third place and has clinched a playoff spot in Region V Tournament. They are one-half game behind Collin County Community College for second place. Including Wednesday, the Leopards have two games remaining: at SWCC and against No. 19 McLennan Community College on March 4 at Kirby Johnson Court. Collin has three games remaining.

The Leopards average 86.4 points per game and give up 83.4 points. TC converts 45.3% from the field, 30.1% from behind the three-point line, and make 66.1% from the charity stripe.

SWCC (12-15 overall, 3-8 NTJCAC) averages 73.7 points per contest and allows 76.1 points. The Rams shoot 43.3% from the field, 34.6% from behind the three-point stripe, and 65.1% from the free-throw line.
