Free throws and the first quarter may have been the difference in the Lady Leopards 59-51 win over South Plains College. The two teams were both around 39% from the field, fairly close in three-point percentage, but 30% separated the two teams on the free throw line. It also helped that the Lady Leopards held South Plains to five points in the first quarter. Sophomores Kristen Nelson and Jamia Miller produced double digit figures for Temple with 17 and 12 points respectively. The Lady Leopards are now 8-6 on the year and will travel to Victoria to face Victoria College January 9 at 2:00 p.m.
