The Temple College Leopards women's basketball hosted Collin County Community College in their home game of North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Saturday at Kirby Johnson Court.
TC endured an early 11-0 run to pull to within five points. However, it was the second run late in the first half that the Leopards could not recover from as Collin County snagged the road win, 89-83
The teams traded the lead early, with Temple having led 7-6 with just under six minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
The Cougars outscored the Leopards over the last six minutes of the first period, 19-5, as Collin led going into the second quarter, 25-12.
TC tried to keep pace in the second quarter, but lost ground as they trailed at halftime, 40-24.
In the third quarter, the Leopards clipped the margin back to nine points as they were poised for a comeback. However, Collin managed to stretch the lead out to 21 late in the third quarter and kept the Leopards from being able to catch up.
Alisha Nunley led all scorers with 39 points, which included 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. Olivia Grgicevich Lassey added 22 points, and Kenzie Willis-Gusters chipped in 12 for Collin.
Mychie White led the Leopards with 24 points. Jaylice Rosario added 19 points, and Imani McCray contributed 12.
The Leopards will host Grayson College to continue conference play at Kirby Johnson Court Wednesday at 5 pm.
