The Temple College women's basketball team travels to Lufkin on Wednesday, as they take on the Angelina College Roadrunners.

Tip-off from Lufkin is 5 pm.

The 3-1 Leopards are coming off a 1-1 appearance at the Tyler JC Classic, where they won against National Park College (54-48) and lost to Tyler (71-64).

In the tournament, the Leopards shot 29.4% (40-of-136) from the floor, 25.9% (7-of-27, 0-of-6 vs. Tyler) from behind the three-point line, 66% from the free throw line (31-of-47), 98 rebounds (33 offensive), 29 assists, 25 blocks and 21 steals.

For the season, Temple averages 73 points per game and average 50.8 points a game. The Leopards average outrebounding opponents 227-84. Temple has more offensive rebounds (99) than total rebounds allowed.

Ke'yreul Wheaton (13.8 ppg) leads the Leopards in scoring, field goals (24), is tied with Kyla Clark with converted three-point shots (5), second in assists (12) and blocks (ten), tied with Clark and Korina Garcia in steals (15).

Sy'Nariea Snow (10.3 ppg) is second in scoring and rebounds (8.3 rpg), Daija Mitchell is tops on the squad in rebounds (10.5) and is third in scoring (9.0 ppg).

Angelina (1-2 overall) also went 1-1 at the TJC Classic, falling to Collin (69-51) and downing National Park College (75-71). The Roadrunners shot 40.3% (50-of-124) from the field, 19.2% from beyond the arc (5-of-26, which included 0-of-15 against Collin), 53.8% (21-of-39) from the free throw line and was outrebounded 82-70.

The Roadrunners average 56 points per game and have yielded 70.7 on average.

Da'Zya Johnson (11.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg) is the team's leading scorer and rebounder through Angelina's first four games.

The trail ahead for the Leopards

The Lufkin trip signifies the Leopards' third game on their six-game road trip. After Wednesday, the Leopards will prepare for their trip to Snyder for the Western Texas Classic Nov. 20-22. Temple will play WTC at 7pm on Nov. 20, Howard College at 1 pm on Nov. 21, and Western Gulf at 1 pm on Nov. 22.

After the WTC Classic, the Leopards will be off 13 days before the Temple Classic on Dec. 5-6 at Kirby Johnson Court.
