The Temple College women's basketball team will host Angelina College, Odessa College, and Tyler Junior College in the 2025 Temple College Women's Basketball Classic Friday and Saturday at Kirby Johnson Court.
Admission is $5 per session.
All games will be broadcasted on Temple College's Playsight page. (https://bit.ly/TC_BBall_LIVE). Tony Adams, Temple College's Sports Information Coordinator, will have the play-by-play call of all four contests.
"We're thrilled to host the Temple College Women's Basketball Classic again this year," Temple College women's basketball head coach Amber Taylor said. "Fans are going to see four very strong Texas teams competing at a high level. It's going to be exciting basketball from start to finish, and we hope the community comes out to watch."
Temple College (8-1) comes into the tournament on a five-game win streak, where they have averaged 68.6 points and given up 49.8 points. Having received votes in the past two NJCAA Division I Top 25 polls, Temple's lone loss of the season was against Tyler at their TJC Classic, 71-64.
For the season, Temple has averaged 70.6 points and given up 50.2 points. The Leopards hold an impressive rebound differential with a +18.8, as well as shooting 34.7% from the field, 29.7% from beyond the three-point arc, and coverts 63.2% of their free-throws.
Ranyiah Hunt (12.1 ppg), Ke'Myreul Wheaton (10.4 ppg), Korina Garcia (10.3 ppg), Sy'Nariea Snow (8.2 ppg), and Gabby Edo (7.6 ppg, 10 rpg) are the leading scorers for the Leopards.
Tyler (6-2) come into Temple on a two-game skid, having lost games against No. 20 Collin County Community College (75-70) and No. 9 South Plains College (86-66) at CCCC Classic in Plano.
The Apaches average 82.8 points per game and yield 68.4 points defensively. Tyler holds a solid rebound differential of +11.5, as well as 46.4% shooting from the field, 39.1% from the three-point line, and 75.7% from the charity stripe.
Taler Thornton (19.8 ppg), Monica Bottley (19.1 ppg), Kennedi Johnson (14.4 ppg) and Trinity Davis (9.4 ppg) are Tyler's leading scorers.
Odessa College (6-8) comes to Temple on a six-game losing streak after starting the season 6-2. Half of the streak has occurred against ranked teams: No. 18 Trinity Valley Community College (90-79), No. 17 Salt Lake Community College (72-50), and No. 5 Eastern Arizona College (69-51).
The Wranglers average 75.1 points per game and yield 70.4 points. Odessa shoots 29% beyond the arc and 68.4% from the free-throw line.
Jazmine Hansley (17.4 ppg), Miriam Senade (9.9 ppg), Arminda Joaquim (9.2 ppg), and Audriana Wright (9.0 ppg) are the leading scorers for Odessa.
Angelina (3-5) has won three of their last six games, after falling to Frank Phillips College on Monday night in Borger, 69-58.
The Roadrunners average 59.9 points per contest and give up 61.3 points a tilt.
Timberlyn Washington (11.4 ppg), Aminah Dixon (10.5 ppg), Da'Zya Johnson (9.6 ppg), and Cleo Johnson (8.0 ppg) are the Roadrunners' leading scorers.
