The Temple College women's basketball team will complete its non-conference schedule with a rematch against Blinn College in Brenham on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.
The Leopards began the 2026 portion of their schedule on Friday afternoon with an impressive 62-43 win over Western Texas College at Kirby Johnson Court.
When the teams faced one another at Kirby Johnson Court on Dec. 13, Blinn jumped out to a fast start and downed the Leopards, 72-47.
Temple (10-3) averages 66.4 points per contest and allows 53.8 points. The Leopards average shooting 32% from the field, 26.7% from behind the three-point line, and 62.9% from the free-throw line.
TC is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the NJCAA with 20.7 boards. On the defensive end, the Leopards pull down 30.8 rebounds for a combined 51.4 rebounds per game. Temple is also one of the best in the nation in shot blocking with 7.5 blocks, with Gabby Edo leading the team with 39 blocks.
Ranyiah Hunt (11.1 ppg), Korina Garcia (9.5 ppg), Ke'Myreul Wheaton (7.8 ppg), Gabby Edo (7.6 ppg), and Daija Mitchell (7.0 ppg) lead the Leopards in scoring.
Blinn College (9-6) averages 69.6 points per game and yields 45.1 points per game. The Buccaneers shoot 37.5% from the field, 31.3% from beyond the three-point arc, 63.1% from charity stripe, 51.3 rebounds per game, 17.9 assists, and 9.5 steals per contest.
Mariah Houston (9.8 ppg), Taylor Spencer (8.5 ppg), and Jasey Campbell (8.4 ppg) are the leading scorers for the Buccaneers.
Following Saturday's game, the Leopards will begin North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play against Ranger College on Wednesday at Kirby Johnson Court.
