The Temple College Leopards women's basketball team will host the Ranger College Rangers at Kirby Johnson Court on Wednesday at 5 pm.
The matchup tips off North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play for both teams.
Temple (10-4) finished their non-conference schedule this past Saturday with a 69-65 overtime loss to Blinn College at Brenham. Korina Garcia scored 14 points and Ranyiah Hunt and Antronea Jackson scored 13 points apiece.
The Leopards have four losses this season, with two losses each against Tyler Junior College and Blinn College.
Temple swept the 2024-2025 series, winning at Ranger, 80-65, and at Kirby Johnson Court, 79-44. The Leopards have won four straight gamesin the series.
Through 14 games, the Leopards average 66 points offensively and allow 54.1. TC is third nationally with 19.9 offensive rebounds, 17th in the nation with 30.4 defensive rebounds, and 7th in the country in total rebounds with 50.3. The Leopards average 14.8 steals (13th nationally), 14.3 assists, and 7.5 blocks (second in the country) per contest.
Hunt (11.2 ppg), Garcia (9.8 ppg), Gabby Edo (7.6 ppg, 3.4 blocks per game), Ke'Myreul Wheaton (7.4 ppg), Jackson (6.9 ppg), and Daija Mitchell (6.4 ppg) are the offensive leaders for the Leopards.
Ranger (5-9) defeated Coastal Bend College on Jan. 2, 72-54. Shamariah Gibbs scored 14 points and Kayleigh Murphy added 13 to lead the Rangers.
Through 14 games, the Rangers average 59.9 points per game offensively and allow 65.9. The Rangers 35.9% from the field, which includes 27.2% from behind the three-point arc, and convert 63.9% from the free-throw line.
Akyla Fields (13.3 ppg), Imani Johnson (12.6 ppg), Murphy (8.7 ppg), Mia Ross (6.0 ppg), and Dawn Roberson (4.8 ppg) are the offensive leaders for the Rangers.
Following Wednesday's game, the Leopards will have back-to-back conference road games, taking on Collin County Community College on Saturday and Grayson College on Jan. 14.
