The Temple College women's basketball team will get its first North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference road test on Saturday as they take on No. 19 Collin County Community College in Frisco.
Game time at Cougar Gymnasium is slated for 2 pm.
Temple (11-4 overall, 3-2 road, 1-0 NTJCAC) is coming off a come-from-behind 59-54 at Kirby Johnson Court on Wednesday.
Collin (11-3 overall, 6-3 home, 1-0 NTJCAC) is coming off a 109-75 home win over Weatherford College. The Cougars outscored the Coyotes in the second half, 65-40.
Through 15 games, Temple averages 65.5 points per game and allows 54.1. The Leopards average 32.4% from the floor, 27.1% from beyond the three-point arc, and convert 63.7% at the free-throw line.
The Leopards have been amongst the country's best at rebounds and blocks.
Offensively, the Leopards average 18.5 boards per game, tied for eighth nationally with Southwestern Illinois College and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Defensively, the Leopards pull down 28.4 rebounds per game, 36th nationally. Overall, Temple averages 46.9 rebounds per game, with a margin of 18.1 per game (11th best).
Temple has been in the top three nationally in team blocks per game. Following Wednesday's game, the Leopards are second with 7.0 blocks per game. Gabby Edo is eighth individually in the country in average blocks per game with 3.2.
Ranyiah Hunt (10.4 ppg), Korina Garcia (9.1 ppg), Edo (7.1 ppg), Ke'myreul Wheaton (6.9 ppg), Sy'Nariea Snow (6.8 ppg), Antronea Jackson (6.4 ppg), and Daija Mitchell (5.9 ppg) are the leading scorers for Temple.
Through 14 games, Collin has averaged 76.7 points per game and allowed 58 points on average. The Cougars shoot 46.1% from the floor, 29.5% from behind the three-point arc, and convert 68.3% of their free-throws.
Gabby Morales (13.6 ppg, 34 points against Weatherford), Sara Basaran (12.3 ppg, 9.1 rebounds per game), and Ella McLeod (11.7 ppg, 31 points against Weatherford) are the top three scorers for Collin.
