The Temple College Women's Basketball faces a critical road matchup on Wednesday afternoon in Terrell, as the Leopards take on Southwestern Christian College.
Tip-off in Terrell is slated for 5 pm.
The teams met on Feb. 2 at Kirby Johnson Court, with Temple storming from nine points down in the second quarter and four points at the half to outscore the Rams in the second half 56-38 to win 86-72. The Leopards had six players score in double figures and Gabby Edo (18 points, 17 rebounds) and Daija Mitchell (ten points, ten rebounds) having logged double-doubles.
Destiny Lewis led all scorers with 32 points for SWCC.
Temple (15-12 overall, 5-8 NTJCAC) is sitting tied in sixth place with Ranger College, two games behind fourth-place Hill College, and one game behind fifth-place Weatherford.
Including Wednesday, the Leopards, Rangers, and Coyotes have three games to play, while the Rebels have four games left.
That said, the Leopards must win out and have a good deal of help to get into the playoffs.
The Leopards average 62.5 points per game and allow 58.3. TC converts 31.9% from the field, 27.6% from beyond the arc, and 61.1% at the free-throw line.
Southwestern Christian (5-21 overall, 3-10 NTJCAC) scores 70.9 points per game and allots 85.9 points. The Rams hit 36% from the field, 30.1% from behind the three-point arc, and 63.7% at the free-three line.
