TC women’s hoops dominate Cisco on road, 88-52

The Temple College women's basketball team traveled northwest through a stormy Texas Saturday to take on the Cisco College Wranglers.

Part of the storm that occupied Cisco was the Leopards on both ends of the floor. TC took the lead 14 seconds into the game and frustrated the Wranglers into low-percentage shots and returned fire with ten three-pointers, six by Emori Lasalle as Temple tripped the Wranglers, 88-52.

Temple completed their regular season with a 17-13 overall record and 7-9 in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play.

Daija Mitchell put the Leopards on the board with a converted free throw. Lasalle added a three-pointer and Gabby Edo chipped in a basket in the paint to formulate a 6-0 inside the game's first 3:28.

Cisco scored three points, which were countered with a 16-8 run to close out the quarter, as the Leopards lead 22-12.

Temple's 17-11 second quarter helped the Leopards keep the separation with a 39-23 halftime lead.

The Leopards started to rip the twine with regularity in the second half as Lasalle, Edo, Korina Garcia, and Antronea Jackson combined for 23 points in the third quarter and opened up a 28-point lead, 62-34, as the game headed for the final period.

Temple's 18-6 run in the fourth quarter opened up a 40-point lead, 80-40, with 4:23 to play.

Cisco could not close the gap, as the Leopards closed out the season with a huge output.

The Leopards hit ten three-pointers: six by Lasalle, two by Garcia, and one each from Jackson and Chyna Nixon. TC hit 7-of-13 free-throws.

Lasalle led all scorers with 24 points. Nixon and Edo each had 15 points, and Mitchell chipped in nine.
