Temple College volleyball opened conference tonight at home against defending conference champion Hill College and it was a roller-coaster ride. Hill College ended up with the win in four sets with scores of 21-25, 18-25, 25-20, 18-25. The first set was back-and-forth until Hill College pulled away with a run of six straight points mid-way through the set. The second set was tied at 6 each before Hill College went on an 11-4 run and didn't let Temple College within five points for the rest of that set. Temple never trailed in the third set and capitalized on Hill's errors. Temple seemed to carry over the momentum into the fourth set taking a 6-3 lead before cooling off and surrendering to Hill 18-25. Landri Greathouse provided eight kills on the night along with Mikayla Blount contributing 16 assists. Taylor Beltz also helped out with 10 digs.
The Temple College Leopards are now 7-8 on the season and 0-1 in conference. Their next matchup is Monday at Cisco College at 6:00 p.m.
