The 2025 Temple College Volleyball regular season gets underway on Friday, as the Leopards travel to Snyder to take part in the Western Texas College Volleyball Fall Classic Tournament at WTC Coliseum and the WTC Health and Physical Education (HPE) Center in Snyder.
Under fourth-year head coach Rachel Melancon and second-year head coach Katelyn Whelan, the 2025 edition of Temple College Leopards are composed of all Texas student-athletes. The Leopards have four sophomores, three that played for TC last season (XanZhae Grigsby, Lana Wright, Riley Mendiola) and a transfer (Grace Schneider, Wharton). This year's squad has ten freshmen.
Temple has played seven pre-season scrimmages leading up to Friday's tournament in Snyder.
The Leopards will play four games total, with two at the Coliseum on Friday and back-to-back Saturday morning games at HPE Center.
Temple will start the tournament against Region 9 Otero College at 10 am Friday. It will be the first meeting on volleyball between the two colleges.
The Leopards return to the Coliseum for a 5:30 pm showdown with the host Westerners out of Region V's Western Junior College Athletic Conference.
The Westerners defeated the Leopards at the WTC Classic in 2024, 3-2. The scores of the match were 25-16, 20-25, 17-25, 25-13, and 15-5.
Action resumes on Saturday morning on the WTC campus, as the Leopards take on Division III Region V's Dallas College Cedar Valley at 9 am.
The Leopards last faced the Suns on Sept. 16, 2022, with Temple winning 3-0 with scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-16.
Temple will cap their tournament stay with an 11 am contest against North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference counterpart Vernon College in a non-conference matchup.
