The Temple College Leopards volleyball team traveled to Hillsboro on Saturday as they took on Hill College.
Though the Leopards played well for most of the contest, the Rebels put together a couple of significant scoring streaks to sweep the match, 30.
Scores of the match were 25-13, 25-9, and 25-23.
Temple held a 4-2 lead early in game one before Hill's 7-0 run put the Rebels in front 9-4. Lana Wright and Kharma Brown delivered kill shots during a Temple 5-1 stretch to pull the Leopards to within two points. However, the Rebels clinched the first game on a 14-4 run to take the first game by 12.
Wright had a kill and an ace, and Yasmine Traore had a kill to give Temple a 4-2 start. The Rebels answered with a 4-2 stretch of their own to tie the game at six. Hill got hot with a 19-3 to take game two by 16 points and took a 2-0 lead in the match.
The Leopards led game three 9-2, thanks to a pair of kills by Karlie McCauley and two assists by Abbie Soileau. The Rebels used an 11-3 run to take a 13-12 lead. Temple stayed close up to the finish, but Hill won the final game by the two-point minimum.
The Leopards will host Southwestern Christian College on Kirby Johnson Court Wednesday at 6 pm. The Lions fell to Vernon College in Terrell, 3-0.
