TC Volleyball returns to court Wednesday against NCTC

The Temple College Volleyball return to North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening as they host North Central Texas College at Kirby Johnson Court at 6 pm.

Admission is free.

Temple (7-18 overall, 1-11 NTJCAC) has played well of late, despite winning on of their past six matches, which includes five straight. The Leopards have won have won seven of their last 22 sets.

TC dropped a heartbreaker to McLennan Community College in Waco, in which they fell in four games (25-18, 25-21, 25-27, and 25-21). However, they held leads in all four and finished within four points of the Highlanders in two of the losses.

Kharma Brown had 11 kills, Yasmine Traore contributed ten kills, and Grace Schneider chipped in eight kills. Karlee Williamson had 21 assists and 11 digs, and Hanna Ward contributed 23 digs.

NCTC (13-6 overall, 9-3) is bouncing back from tough road loss at Vernon College, 3-2. Scores of the match were 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, and 15-10 in which there were a combined 165 digs,132 kills and 103 assists.

Emily Metzler had 17 digs and 14 kills, and Alexis de Vries had 43 assists and 19 digs to lead the Lions.

When the teams played in Gainesville on Sept. 13, the Lions edged the Leopards, 3-2. Scores of the match were 18-25, 25-23, 25-17, 23-25, and 15-8.

Lana Wright and Kenedee Pennington each had ten kills, while Williamson, Ward, and Abbie Soileau each had 20 assists.

Metzler and Kassidy Paul each had nine kills in the game, with de Vries contributing 27 assists and 13 digs, and Emarei Brandon and adding nine digs and eight kills.
