The Temple College Volleyball squad traveled to Terrell on Saturday to take on the Southwestern Christian College Rams.
Temple jumped out to 4-0 leads in all three games and trailed only once during the three-game winning sweep over the Rams.
Scores of the match were 25-15 25-15, and 25-17.
Temple had multiple streaks in the match. After starting with a 4-0 lead, the Rams crawled back to within one point, 11-10. The Leopards finished game on 15-4 pass and took a 1-0 lead in the match.
In game two, the Leopards started with a 5-0 lead. The Rams stayed within five points before the Leopards edged out to an 18-7 advantage. TC managed to outlast a late point-for-point trade to take game two by ten points.
The Leopards started to a 4-0 lead before a 7-1 run by the Rams gave SWCC a two-point lead. Temple responded with six straight points to take an 11-7 lead. The Leopards began to pull away, as they finished the match at a 13-7 clip for the sweep.
Yasmine Traore, Kharma Brown, Grace Schneider, Lana Wright, Karlie McCauley, and Sarah Rodriguez had solid games with timely kills. Kenedee Pennington had another double-digit assist performance. Abbie Soileau, Hanna Ward, and Hannah Block all were solid in serves and digs for the Leopards.
Temple College (3-13 NTJCAC, 9-20 overall) will host No. 2 Weatherford College (16-0 NTJCAC, 27-2 overall) in their last home contest of the season Wednesday at 6 pm at Kirby Johnson Court. The Coyotes clinched their fourth consecutive NTJCAC regular season title with a sweep of Cisco on Saturday. WC is on a 35-game conference win streak.
