The Temple College athletic program began its crossover from fall sports to winter sports this past week.
The Leopards Volleyball played its last two games of their 2025 season, Leopards Softball and Baseball played their final fall tune-ups, and Leopards men's and women's basketball played their first games of the 2025-2026 season on Saturday.
Here is a look back at the week in Temple College athletics:
TC Volleyball falls to No. 2 Weatherford, Vernon
The Temple College volleyball played their final two games of the 2025 season this past week.
In their final home game on Wednesday, the Leopards faced a solid No. 2 Weatherford College.
The Coyotes came out hot and did not let up, as the Leopards battled hard and came up on the wrong end of a 3-0 shutout.
Scores of the contest were 25-9, 25-10, and 25-14.
Kharma Brown had six kills, and Lana Wright and Yasmine Traore each added five. Karlee Williamson had 18 assists and Hanna Ward had 16 of Temple's 34 digs.
On Saturday, the Leopards traveled to Vernon College to take on the Chaparrals, who were on a mission to take in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference playoff race.
The Chaparrals defended their home court with a 3-0 sweep of the Leopards.
Scores of the match were 25-10, 25-18, and 25-10.
Riley Mendiola and Kenedee Pennington each had five kills, Abbie Soileau had 13 kills, and Ward added 21 digs.

Temple's season ended with a 9-22 overall record, and finished eighth in the conference with a 3-15 mark.
Sophomore's finale
The game on Saturday spelled the last in the Temple College careers of three hard-working Leopards.
Lana Wright (Manor, TX) and Riley Mendiola (Bulverde, TX), each having spent two years at TC, and Grace Schneider (Little River Academy, TX), who joined the Leopards after playing her freshman season at Wharton County Community College, played their final games for Temple.
Region V Playoffs
While the Leopards will not be in the Region V Playoffs, the field is set for this Thursday through Saturday's tournament at Betty Jo Crumm Graber Gymnasium in Weatherford.
In the 9 a.m. game on Thursday, the Odessa Wranglers take the NTJCAC fourth-seed Vernon. In the noon session, Frank Phillips College will take on second-seeded Ranger. In the 3 pm matchup, Weatherford, the top seed in the NTJCAC, will take on Midland College. At 6 pm, New Mexico Military Academy will take on third-seeded Hill College.
TC men's basketball drills Fort Hood, taking advantage of 79-point first half
The Temple College Leopards hosted the Fort Hood Phantom Warriors to tip off their 2025-2026 campaign Saturday at Kirby Johnson Court.
Having trailed 17-10 four minutes into the game, the Leopards raced through the net 16 minutes having outscored Hood 69-27 to crush the Phanton Warriors, 141-93.
All 12 Leopards that dressed scored in the game, and seven scored at least ten points each. Jaymes Brown-Peterson led the Leopards with 20 points, all scored in the first half. Harry Bates scored 17 points, 15 in the opening half. Josh Telfort and Byron Piper both scored 16 points.

With their Monday game with Dallas College – Cedar Valley postponed the Leopards will play two road non-conference games. On Wednesday, the Leopards will travel to Farmers Branch to take on Dallas College – Brookhaven for a 7 pm contest. On Friday, Temple travels to Corsicana for a out-of-region matchup against Navarro College at 7 pm.
TC women's basketball wins contest over Palo Alto College
The Temple College women's basketball team began their 2025-2026 season with a home contest against Palo Alto College.
The Palominos grabbed a 17-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter. However, the Leopards went to a whole other level, having outscored the Palominos 30-6 in the second quarter, 22-10 in third quarter, and 27-7 in the fourth as TC routed Palo Alto, 92-40.
Sy'Nariea Snow scored seven of Temple's 13 points in the first quarter, as the Leopards trailed 17-13.
TC turned on the tempo in the second quarter, with a full-court press on defense and relentless rebounding on offense. Kyla Clark, Korina Garcia, and Ke'Myreul Wheaton having combined to score 19 of Temple's 30 points in the second stanza. The Leopards went on a 12-0 run over a seven-minute stretch as Temple led at the halftime break, 43-43.
The Leopards continued the pounce on the Palominos, with another solid ten minutes where press and tempo were the priority. Temple used scoring from eight different players in the quarter to give the Leopards a 65-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Temple's defense never quit, as they held the Palominos without a field goal in the quarter, and held Palo Alto to 7-of-10 from the free-throw line. The Leopards parlayed the defense into multiple fast-break opportunities over the final ten minutes.
The Leopards were 10-of-18 from the free-throw line and logged seven three-pointers. All 12 players dressed scored for Temple, led by Clark with 13 points. Ma'Leah Duval and Andronea Jackson each scored ten points, and Snow scored nine.

The Leopards will host Coastal Bend College on Tuesday at 5:30 pm at Kirby Johnson Court. On Friday, Temple will travel to Tyler to play at the Tyler Junior College Classic at Wagstaff Gymnasium. The first game will be Friday evening at 5 pm against National Park College. The second will be against Tyler on Saturday at 3 pm.
TC Baseball wraps fall schedule
The Temple College baseball team wrapped their fall schedule against McLennan Community College in Waco on Oct. 23.
The Leopards played strong against the Highlanders with Sage Sanders having collected three hits, Elias Leon-Padilla and Chase Fricke each had two hits, and Hunter Baros drove home two runs.

With a new artificial turf surface at the Danny Scott Athletic Complex, the Leopards will their spring season in January.
TC Softball completes their fall season
The Temple College softball completed their 2025 fall schedule last week as they took on UMHB in Belton on Tuesday and Texas State in San Marcos on Thursday.
TC scored a combined 24 runs against the Crusaders.
Reese Cottrell hit for the cycle and drove home two runs in the opening game. Jasmine Benavidez and Angie DeLeon each collected three hits.
Izzy Garcia allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
In the second game, Ryley Litchfield drove in four runs, Brooklyn Walton drove home three more, and Marli Kennedy had three hits. Cottrell and Garcia each contributed homers.
Kat Kram and Cottrell combined on a five-hitter, with seven strikeouts.

Temple will break in their new turf surface and prepare to host Clarendon College on Jan. 30 at the Danny Scott Athletic Complex.
