Leopards Win the Battle Against Weatherford

Leopards Win the Battle Against Weatherford

The Leopards outscored the Coyotes 23-8 in the final minutes of the game to win 100-95 tonight at TC Gym. Despite outscoring Weatherford College in each half, the Leopards found themselves down 10 points with just over four minutes left in the game. The Leopards were able to claw their way back with some clutch shots and much needed defensive stops to tie the game with just over a minute left in the second half. Kaelin Jackson was able to convert a possession into a three-point play when he was fouled, made the shot, and the follow-up free throw. J.R. Adams then made a go-ahead three-pointer with less than a minute left and the Leopards were able to hold onto the lead from that point. Every Leopard starter scored in the double digits. Max Portmann scored 23 points, Jackson 22, Malik Malone 18, Torenzo Saunders 15, and Adams had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. The Leopards are now 6-2 in conference and 22-4 overall. They will be back in action on the road at conference rival Ranger College Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
