The Temple College Leopards softball team traveled west on Wednesday as they returned to North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference action at Cisco College.
The Leopards offense picked up intensity after the long layoff, as Temple swept Cisco in a pair of run-rule wins.
Scores of the doubleheader were 16-2 and 12-3, both in five innings.
Jasmine Benavidez scored on an error in the top of the first to give Temple a 1-0 lead.
Reese Cottrell's solo homer and KyLeigh Cambiano's RBI single that scored Kaiyah Ratu in the third inning lifted the Leopards lead to three.
Paige Stall's two-run homer in the third inning brought the Wranglers to within a run.
Temple (No. 8, 26-4, 6-0 NTJCAC) put the game out of reach in the top of the fourth. Brooklyn Walton scored on an error, Benavidez doubled home Lexi Dudeczka, and Ratu drilled a two-run homer over the centerfield fence to give Leopards a 7-2 advantage.
The Leopards posted a nine-run fifth inning to make the lead insurmountable. Benavides' bases-clearing double started the rally. Ratu homered for the second time, which brought home three runs. Angie DeLeon added a solo homer, Maddi Durnell worked a eight-pitch at-bat into an RBI single, and Izzy Garcia's sacrifice fly scored Cambiano to give Temple a 16-2 lead.
Ratu and Benavidez each had two hits and three runs scored apiece, with Ratu having accounted for five RBI and Benavidez driving home four. Temple had 12 hits and drew 11 walks.
Kat Kram picked up the win in the circle, having pitched four innings, allowed two runs on three hits, struck out six, and walked three. Cottrell pitched the fifth inning and struck out one.
Emily Turner had two of Cisco's three hits.
Cisco (15-19, 3-7 NTJCAC) got out to a quick start in game two with an RBI double by Turner and RBI single by Stall to go up 2-0 in the first.
Temple came from behind in the top of the second for six runs. DeLeon scored on a wild pitch, Benavidez belted a bases-clearing triple, and Cottrell's two-run homer gave the Leopards a four-run lead.
Malory Martin's bases-loaded walk scored Leah Sommerville to pull Cisco back to within three.
Marli Kennedy's single in the top of the fifth inning scored Ryley Litchfield. Kennedy stole home moments later, and Ratu's bases-clearing double gave Temple a 12-3 lead.
Garcia, Cottrell, and Dalanee Ekster combined on a four-hitter, having walked six and struck out three.
Benavidez and Ratu each drove in three runs, and Kennedy added two. Dudeczka, Benavidez, DeLeon, Litchfield, and Kennedy each scored twice.
Stall and Turner each had two hits for Cisco.
Temple's win streak is now at 14, having outscored opponents 133-17. The Leopards have committed just three errors during the stretch.
The Leopards will host Cisco College in doubleheader action at the Danny Scott Sports Complex on Saturday, starting at noon.
