The Temple College Leopards returned from the NJCAA Division I Softball JUCO World Series on Monday to a big crowd at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.
On Tuesday, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its 2026 NJCAA All-American Team.
Freshman Izzy Garcia and sophomore Reese Cottrell earned NCFA All-American honors.
"I am very proud of Izzy and Reese," Temple College head coach Kadie Berlin-George said. "They both embody what it means to be a Temple College Leopard. Their hard work, dedication, and character have made them extremely successful."
Garcia, a native of Troy, Texas, was named NCFA First Team All-American pitcher.
Garcia went 29-2 with a 2.17 earned run average in 38 appearances, 26 starts, 10 complete games, and four shutouts. In 170 2/3 innings pitched, Garcia allowed 63 runs (53 earned) on 114 hits, struck out 175 batters, walked 48, and hit eight batters. Opponents hit just .180 against her.
Offensively, Garcia .404 with a .458 on-base percentage, drilled five homers, drove homer 38 runs, and had a 1.000 fielding percentage in 34 total chances.
Cottrell, a native of Franklin, Texas, was named NFCA Second Team All-American First Baseman.
In 66 games, Cottrell hit .436 with a .521 on-base percentage. She hit 13 home runs, drove home 77 runs, clubbed 27 doubles, and walked 39 times. Cottrell also had a .983 on-base percentage, has committed just four errors in 240 opportunities.
Cottrell also served as a relief pitcher for the Leopards. In 27 appearances, Cottrell held a 9-2 record with one save and 2.20 earned run average. In 76 1/3 innings, she allowed 27 runs (24 earned) on 51 hits, struck out 48 batters, walked 26, and hit two batters. Opponents hit just .183 against her.
Temple College went 58-8 in 66 games, were the NJCAA Division I National Runner-up in 2026. The Leopards went 30-2 in Region V's North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, and won both the conference championship and Southwest District B Tournament championship.
